5 Ways for You to Eat Healthy While on Vacation

Vacation is a time to unwind, release all the stress you’ve been carrying on your shoulders, and allow yourself to get re-energized and refocused.  That being said, walking into a vacation thinking it’s going to be a free-for-all binge of food and drinks is a terrible idea.

  1. Prepare Your Own Meals

The easiest way to know what you’re putting in your body is to make your own meals.  Find a local grocery store wherever you are vacationing and stock up on healthy fruits and vegetables as well as lean sources of protein.

Unless you absolutely want to, don’t make all of your own meals on vacation.  Go out and enjoy the local cuisine and everything the town has to offer – but be strategic.  You can go out and have a good time and still eat healthy while on vacation.

Know where you’re going or what your nutrition for the day looks like, so you don’t put yourself in a huge caloric surplus where you’ll be going home several pounds heavier than when you first left for vacation.
